Our expectation from men in society is so low that if he doesn’t hit you/control you/tell you what to wear/stop you from working, then he is a gift from God and hence he’s put on a pedestal because let’s face it, he’s perfect. Maybe we need to demand more from men? More than just “he treats me like an adult and gives me freedom and so he’s perfect.” That should be the most basic requirement from the men and women we date, not the reason why we settle
