We want a society with enough children being born, but we refuse to acknowledge that looking after them, raising them, and caring for them is actual work. If womxn took a month off from their unpaid labour, it would absolutely have an effect on our economy because men with paid jobs would no longer have the luxury of just getting up and going to work every day; they’d have children and homes and the elderly to care for. The reason men have a choice whether or not to do unpaid work is because womxn don’t.
